AIRBUS GROUP TECHNOLOGY LICENSING KICKS OFF ITS LATEST OUTREACH TO NORTH AMERICA
With its second major swing through North America, Airbus Group Technology Licensing is continuing its focus on potential strategic partnerships with the Canadian and the U.S. automotive sectors.
During the weeklong trip, members of the Airbus Group Technology Licensing team are conducting a series of follow-up and discovery meetings with key manufacturers, suppliers and industry organizations in the region. This latest outreach builds on previous visits to North America and will feature an ongoing emphasis on establishing long-term relationships that allow automotive companies to access and evaluate a broad selection of Airbus Group-patented technologies.
It also follows a key car industry milestone for the Airbus Group Technology Licensing initiative in late 2014: its Technology Transfer Framework agreement with Maserati. This allows the luxury Italian-based auto manufacturer to make in-depth reviews of a broad portfolio of expertise from Airbus Group Innovations – the Group’s global research and development network – through a long-term partnership.
“We continue to build momentum in the automotive sector, and the North American market is very important to us,” said Wulf Hoeflich, Head of Airbus Group Technology Licensing. “Airbus Group’s patented technologies and processes can contribute to the automobile industry’s drive to further improve production, reduce costs, lower the weight of vehicles and adapt to the new generation of more-electric vehicles.”
The trip is being supported by Airbus Group Technology Licensing’s North American licensing partner motormindz, a team of industry experts which provides significant expertise for delivering specifically-tailored solutions and is responsible for helping market Airbus Group-patented technologies in Canada and the U.S.
In cooperation with Airbus Group Technology Licensing, motormindz has further reinforced its own capabilities with the addition Michael Liedtke, a new partner who brings some 25 years experience at such high-profile companies as Maxwell Technologies, BMW, Boeing, Mercedes-Benz and McDonnell Douglas.

This week’s Airbus Group Technology Licensing trip to North America maintains the operation’s active presence in the region, which includes a previous tour of Canada’s automotive sector, its regular presence at the CANSEC security/military tradeshow and a U.S.-based workshop it hosted to explore licensing opportunities.
